DM Engineers was engaged by Columbia University in 2021 to manage the replacement of the existing fog humidification system located in the sub-basement mechanical room, which served the Butler Library book stacks and office areas. The existing system was old, past its useful life, and caused maintenance issues and low-humidity conditions throughout the building and stack levels. As part of the scope, the controls at the five (5) AHUs were also updated.

Stonestreet Studios, a film and media production facility affiliated with New York University (NYU), undertook an upgrade of its existing HVAC systems to improve indoor comfort, reliability, and compliance with current energy standards. The project involved the replacement of outdated mechanical systems serving classrooms, studios, offices, and support areas within the building located at 48 West 21st Street in Manhattan.

DM Engineers provides plumbing and fire protection support for the Renovate/Replace Harriman Hall for Business project at Stony Brook University during the Program Verification (PV) phase. Our work includes a high-level assessment of existing conditions within Harriman Hall and a feasibility analysis for two potential new construction sites, Circle Road SE and South Campus. This effort involves reviewing existing plumbing and fire protection systems, assessing water supply, sanitary, and stormwater utilities, and evaluating fire protection infrastructure such as sprinkler coverage, standpipes, and hydrant capacity.

This phase focuses on modernizing the learning environment through the integration of advanced mechanical systems designed to improve energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and long-term operational performance.

DM Engineers has been tasked with the comprehensive renovation of approximately 6,500 square feet of space currently designated for future library use, repurposing it for the Psychology Department. This project will integrate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection/alarm design considerations from the outset, ensuring a seamless and efficient renovation process.
