Project description
The SUNY – Purchase College project aims to replace the outdated dust collection system in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) scene shop, focusing on wood cutting machinery to enhance student safety by eliminating fire hazards and ensuring proper ventilation and electrical requirements. DM Engineers will take charge of developing MEP construction documents and oversee the construction phase. The project involves multiple phases, starting with the development of concept documentation and layouts, followed by the Design Development Phase, including tasks such as creating a comprehensive Design Manual, Specifications Outline, demolition plans, and various design elements.
In the Construction Design and MEP phase, activities include performing a systems assessment, developing Construction Documents for MEP disciplines, selecting equipment, coordinating with existing systems, reviewing designs with facility managers, and obtaining approvals from NYS and local Department of Buildings. This comprehensive approach ensures a systematic and safe replacement process for the dust collection system.
