Fort Lauderdale Police Headquarters
Commissioning
DM Engineers is providing commissioning services for the Fort Lauderdale Police Headquarters and its adjacent parking structure, guaranteeing that all systems are fully aligned with the project’s design intent and meet the stringent Florida Building Code requirements. The commissioning process includes overseeing construction and installation, reviewing testing reports, preparing pre-functional checklists, performing functional performance testing, and delivering preliminary and final commissioning reports.
The headquarters, spanning 190,980 square feet, is equipped with a modern air-cooled chilled water HVAC system, which includes three chillers and a dedicated outside air system (DOAS). The DOAS preconditions outdoor air using an energy recovery wheel before distributing it through fan/coil units. Additionally, the facility is supported by two water-cooled computer room AC units to maintain optimal cooling for critical areas. The adjacent 216,265-square-foot parking structure features ventilation fans for carbon monoxide control, DX split systems for enclosed spaces, and specialized ventilation systems to accommodate an integrated shooting range.
DM Engineers is dedicated to ensuring the efficient and effective operation of these complex systems, focusing on optimizing performance, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
