Heating & Domestic Hot Water MEP Upgrade
DM Engineers was engaged to by New York Installers Inc to provide MEP design-build for the replacement of the entire heating and domestic hot water systems at the facility, involving the installation of four high-efficiency Lochinvar combination boilers. Each of these boilers, with an output capacity of 999 MBH, is designed to handle both heating and domestic hot water, streamlining the system by combining these functions into a single unit. The project included a complete overhaul of the mechanical systems, integrating advanced controls, and ensuring all new installations adhered to the latest building codes and safety standards.
The upgrade was specifically aimed at significantly improving the facility's energy efficiency, with the new combination boilers designed to increase the efficiency from 80% to 98%. This not only supports modern energy conservation standards but also offers substantial cost savings through reduced energy consumption. By focusing exclusively on the design aspects, DM Engineers provided a detailed blueprint for a state-of-the-art system that ensures reliability and efficiency in the client’s operations, setting the stage for a seamless future installation and commissioning process.
