DM Engineers PLLC, in partnership with Environmental Engineering Solutions, is currently undergoing a feasibility study to complete the installation of the two new vapor absorption chillers located on the 98th street side of campus. Currently, the primary source for chilled water on campus is a steam-driven absorption chiller rated at 1800 Ton of cooling capacity. The main intent of this project is to enable the new two 940 Ton Vapor absorption chillers to function as the primary cooling source of the campus, provide means to establish the existing 1800 Ton chiller as the n+1 redundancy for the hospital and to allow for economizer “free cooling” for this equipment via a plate a frame heat exchanger. Our team will assess the condition of the equipment, engineering requirements to connect the equipment and provide an opinion of probable cost for the execution of the construction.
